Botanical No. 3

Clary sage opens it, herbal and a little musky, and bergamot adds a bright citrus edge. As the lather builds, cedarwood comes through underneath, warm and woody. Three essential oils, balanced so no one note shouts.

It starts with tallow, the traditional soapmaker’s fat, plus coconut and olive oil, shea and cocoa butter, and a touch of castor for a steady lather. Calendula flowers go in by hand. We make it by cold process and let it cure slowly.

Botanical No. 3 smells like a walk through an herb garden that ends at the woodpile. Made for anyone who’d rather smell like the outdoors than a perfume counter.
