Apple comes first, bright and crisp with a little lemon and ginger, then ripe fig rolls in underneath. As it lathers, cinnamon and a touch of caramel warm it up, and it dries down woodsy, like a walk through wet leaves.
The base is olive oil and tallow, with coconut for bubbles and a little shea butter and castor for a creamy, steady lather. Milk, sugar and silk make it richer still, and mica gives it its color. We make it by cold process and cure it slowly. One fragrance oil, Bramble Berry’s Autumn Fig Harvest, carries the scent.
Autumn Fig is the bar for the first cool evening of the year. Light a candle and take your time.
