Father’s Day

Cheryl first made this bar as gifts for the fathers in her life: her husband, her brother, her father and her sons. Then she fell in love with it herself, so now it’s here for yours.

Oud leads, deep and woody with a hint of leather. Birchwood adds a curl of smoke on top. On the dry bar it’s warm and quiet. In the lather it opens into something richer, the scent that lingers in a den after the fire has burned down.

There’s no tallow in this one: it’s mostly olive oil, with coconut for bubbles and castor for a steady foam. Powdered milk and colloidal oats make the lather creamy, and kaolin and bentonite clay give it slip. Two fragrance oils carry the scent.
